A shop window that sells eight-figure property.
The project
A real estate office on an Aspen street has a specific problem: the most valuable thing it sells cannot be put in the window. The answer here was a video wall large enough and bright enough to stop someone on the pavement, running property films and stills continuously through the day.
The wall is four screens driven as a single 8K canvas. Content can span all four as one image — an aerial of a coastline, an interior, a listing film — or split into separate panes when that suits the material better. Getting a single image to hold together across four bezels is a calibration exercise as much as an installation one: colour, brightness and geometry all have to match, or the eye reads four televisions instead of one picture.
Video is distributed over Just Add Power, which sends signal across the building's network rather than over dedicated matrix cabling. For a commercial fit-out that matters, because adding a screen later means adding a network drop rather than re-pulling video cable through a finished ceiling. Sources are an Apple TV for streamed and locally hosted content, and the whole system runs under Control4 so staff can change what is playing without needing to understand what sits behind it.
Beyond the wall we installed displays in the conference room and offices on the same distribution, so any source can reach any screen — a listing presentation can move from a private meeting to the street-facing wall without anyone touching a cable. Lutron shading went in throughout, which on a west-facing Aspen storefront is not a luxury: without it the wall is unreadable for a good part of the afternoon.
